Josh Kroenke's visit to Arsenal's Emirates stadium and what it means for Unai Emery

Josh Kroenke was in the crowd for Arsenal's Premier League draw with Crystal Palace.

The club director later spoke to Gunners manager Unai Emery in his office following the fixture, which finished 2-2 and was marred by an incident involving Granit Xhaka.

It is common practise for Kroenke to go and watch Arsenal whenever he is in London and it coincides with Emery's men playing at home.

His father Stan was also in London this weekend, but he was at Wembley to watch his Los Angeles Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals.

The younger Kroenke, it seems, drew the short straw given the result at the Emirates didn't go Arsenal's way.

But he did get the opportunity to catch up with Gunners boss Emery and speak to him about a few things relevant to the club.

According to the Athletic, Kroenke informed the former Paris Saint-Germain boss that his job at Arsenal is safe for the time being.

There has been much speculation surrounding Emery in recent weeks with poor performances on the pitch and fans growing increasingly frustrated.

But Kroenke is a supporter of the Spaniard, and is prepared to continue backing him for now.

What's more, Emery learnt that he still has the support of other top brass at the club including Raul Sanllehi, Edu and Vinai Venkatesham.

It seems his biggest task now is getting fans back on side, as, ultimately, Kroenke's meeting was nothing more than a check-up, not a threat to step things up.

Kroenke has previously spoken out about how highly he rates Emery. He told Arsenal.com: "I think he's doing a great job, has done a great job and is doing a great job.

"Turning the page from such a legendary manager and figure as Arsene [Wenger] - not only at Arsenal but in European football - was always going to be a difficult page to turn and as a club I think we've turned it as elegantly as we could.

"I think Unai's daily approach is fantastic. He's out there on the pitch, he's working, he's watching video, he's communicating and his daily energy and devotion to his work is fantastic, it's exactly what we need."
