Arsenal director Josh Kroenke has made assurances to Mikel Arteta that the Spaniard will be backed following a difficult start to the season, football.london understands.
Arteta has a strong working relationship with Josh Kroenke and is in regular communication with the Arsenal director.
Previous managers including Arsene Wenger and Unai Emery were eventually dismissed by the American billionaire owners following difficult periods in form.
Gunners boss Arteta, who has won an FA Cup and Community Shield since taking over as Arsenal boss, has presided over Arsenal's worst start to a season since the 1950s.
The Kroenkes have backed Arteta with over £150million to spend in the summer transfer market.
"He's very supportive, very passionate about the club and he wants to take the club to a different level," Arteta said in May following the Super League fiasco.
"That's the ambition and that's why he's here."
Asked what he spoke to Kroenke about in a private phone call, Arteta said:
"The same that he says every time we are on the phone.
"He’s very supportive, very passionate about the club. He wants to take the club to a different level and that’s why he’s here."
