Josh Kroenke announces Arsenal's stance on selling after European Super League fiasco

Josh Kroenke, son of owner Stan, has confirmed Kroenke Sports Enterprises has no intention of selling Arsenal on the back of the club's European Super League decision.

The Gunners were one of 12 European clubs to sign up for the controversial breakaway competition but U-turned on the decision 48 hours later following a huge backlash from fans.

Arsenal cancelled their Fans' Forum on Sunday after the initial announcement was made, but rescheduled the meeting once the club had backed out of the Super League.

Kroenke made a rare appearance via Zoom alongside chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and was asked whether his company would consider selling Arsenal on the back of the doomed venture.

Kroenke replied: "I am not willing to answer that question because we have no intention of selling. I believe we are fit to carry on in our position as custodians of Arsenal. We were put in a very difficult position by forces outside of the club.

"We have the same plans for summer that we had several weeks ago and I'm still excited about those.

"So I might be met with mistrust, I might be met with scepticism, but over time I hope to establish some sort of relationship with our supporter groups and show them that we are capable of taking our club forward."

Kroenke then went one step further by confirming his parent company will be covering the withdrawal fees following their U-turn.

It has been reported that Arsenal could be hit with a bill worth £8million, but Venkatesham is confident it will be lower than this extortionate amount.
