Josh King sends message over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United future

Former Manchester United striker Josh King says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will bring success back to the club, but only if he is given time.

King, now at Bournemouth, played under Solskjaer when his Norwegian compatriot was manager of the U23s at Old Trafford. He made two first team appearances but left in 2013 for Blackburn before joining Bournemouth in 2015 and going on to score 47 goals in 156 appearances.

King scored the winner for Bournemouth against United earlier this month as his former club have struggled so far this campaign.

But the striker backed his former coach to be a success at United and turn things around as he credited Solskjaer for making him a better player.

"He was good, but it was the start of his managerial career,' he  told FourFourTwo.

"He was brilliant with me, and helped me. I know him as a person and a manager and have loads of respect for him.

"When he took over United I was very happy for him and his family because I know how much that meant for him as a person - it's always been his dream.

"I hope and believe he'll get United back to where they were, but obviously they need time."
