Josh Jacobs Gave the Most Disheartening Answer About Raiders’ Offensive Woes

The frustration surrounding the Raiders offense hit peak levels during the team’s 26–14 loss on Monday night to the Lions. Las Vegas fell short on virtually every big-play opportunity and in any and all statistical categories imaginable. They were outgained 486 yards to 157 and went 1-of-9 on third-down conversions, which was just the tip of the iceberg.

So when running back Josh Jacobs, the lone player to score an offensive touchdown for the Raiders, was asked about finding a spark for the team's offense, it's hard to blame him for brushing it off.

"I don't know, it ain't my job," Jacobs said when asked about what could spark the offense, per NFL Network's Bridget Condon.

The shoulder shrug of a response from Jacobs essentially sums up the Raiders this season offensively. It’s been a disheartening two weeks for the franchise, and they currently average the second-fewest yards per game offensively in the NFL this season (268.3), ahead of only the Giants (267.9).

Las Vegas also checks in with the third-fewest points per game through Week 8 at 15.8, ahead of only the Patriots (14.8) and Giants (11.9). The Raiders face the lone team currently rivaling their offensive issues in Week 9 when they welcome the Giants to town, a team that was forced to call third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito into action last week.
