Josh Jacobs after Raiders beat Bears: ‘We wanted to let the world know who we are’

Raiders running back Josh Jacobs had his best career game on a world stage, and that was apparently part of the plan.

According to NBC Sports’ Scott Bair, Jacobs said the Raiders tired of hearing about the Bears’ skilled defense and the team wanted to send a message in London. They did just that in winning, 24-21. Jacobs had 143 total yards, with 123 on the ground, and two touchdowns.

The Raiders’ record now sits and 3-2 heading into their bye week. The club is 2-1 on a stretch of five games away from Oakland, and spirits are high. Jacobs is a huge reason for that success. He’s in the drivers’ seat to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Now that the Raiders have proven they can thrive as an underdog, the club must show it can win when results are expected. They won’t sneak up on any team for the time being. That’s because they showed the world what they can do in beating the Bears in London.
