Josh Hart undergoes knee procedure, out approximately 3 months

A third member of the Lakers young core of players will be shut down for the remainder of the season.

The Lakers announced on Thursday morning that Josh Hart underwent an ‘ultrasonic debridement‘ procedure to improve the health of his right patellar tendon. Hart is expected to return to full basketball activities in approximately 12 months.

After an excellent start to the season where he played great defense and shot the ball well from the 3-point line, Hart’s season tailed off considerably when the calendar turned to 2019. That drop-off also had a lot to do with the injury LeBron James suffered on Christmas Day.

For the season Hart averaged 7.8 points and 3.7 rebounds while finishing the season shooting below 34% from 3.
