Seahawks receiver Josh Gordon is suspended indefinitely for an unspecified drug violation, ESPN reports.
Adam Schefter's report didn't specify whether Gordon's violation had to do with performance-enhancing drugs or substance abuse, or whether he tested positive for anything. Gordon had been released by the Patriots earlier this season after a knee injury, but was receiving significant playing time as a backup receiver in Seattle.
Gordon, who has said that he began using Xanax and marijuana in middle school, has been suspended by the NFL five times. The league suspended him for two games in 2013, 10 in 2014 for a positive marijuana test, the entire 2015 and 2016 season for alcohol violations, and from December 2018 to August 2019 for "violating the terms of his reinstatement."
