Josh Gordon placed on IR by Patriots and will miss game vs. Browns

One of the more intriguing angles for the Cleveland Browns visit to Foxboro to face the New England Patriots in Week 8 was Josh Gordon. The former Browns receiver has rejuvenated his talented-but-troubled career in New England, and it was poised to be the first time he played against the Browns.

Alas, Gordon will not be in uniform for the Patriots to square off against his old team. The Patriots placed Gordon on injured reserve with a knee injury.

It’s the latest in a lengthy series of setbacks for Gordon, a list Browns fans know all too well. From the multiple NFL suspensions for violating the league’s substance abuse policy to the nagging hamstring injury which slowed the well-muscled wideout in his last year in Cleveland (2018), Gordon’s availability is always an open question.

His Patriots season ends with 20 receptions for 287 yards and one TD.
