Josh Gordon applies for NFL reinstatement once again

Former Cleveland Browns standout wide receiver Josh Gordon is hoping to make another return to the NFL. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Gordon has applied for reinstatement with commissioner Roger Goodell.

Gordon is currently serving an indefinite NFL suspension for repeated violations of the league’s substance abuse policy. He last played for the Seattle Seahawks in the 2019 season before being suspended by Goodell. It is Gordon’s sixth NFL suspension dating back to his time in Cleveland, which began in 2012 and lasted until the Browns traded him to New England after one game in 2018.

Gordon has battled substance abuse and chemical dependency issues since middle school. He chronicled his rampant drug abuse, which includes barbituates, cocaine and PEDs, in a lengthy interview near the end of his Browns tenure.

No word on if the NFL will approve his latest bid for reinstatement.
