Josh Gordon and 2 tight ends did not participate at Patriots practice

The New England Patriots were missing receiver Josh Gordon (knee) and tight ends Matt LaCosse (knee) and Ryan Izzo (concussion) at practice on Friday. Izzo was a new addition.

Running back Rex Burkhead (foot), receivers Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) and Julian Edelman (chest) and safety Patrick Chung (heel/chest) were limited. They were all limited on Wednesday.

While final injury reports typically go out on Friday, the Patriots play the New York Jets on Monday night, and so New England gets an extra session on Saturday for Week 7. The final injury report will be released Saturday.

Even with the Patriots signing tight ends Ben Watson and Eric Tomlinson, New England is again thin at the position with LaCosse and Izzo dealing with injuries. Watson is the best bet to make meaningful contributions for the Patriots in Week 7, but even his role is uncertain, considering the Patriots cut him before his return from a suspension.
