Josh Doig transfer latest as Hibs 'set £5m asking price' amid Arsenal interest

Hibs have slapped a £5million price-tag on Josh Doig ahead of any potential summer move.

A number of clubs are interested in signing the teenage defender, who burst onto the scene this season.

Doig has been linked with moves to Watford and Arsenal, as well as Italian giants AC Milan.

No official moves have been made for the left back but Hibs are determined to hold onto him unless it’s for big money, according to a report.

Goal.com report that Arsenal are keeping a close eye on him as a young left back to play as back-up to Kieran Tierney and eventually battle him.

And they say Hibs want a minimum of £5m as well as a hefty sell-on clause before they would consider letting him go.

Doig only signed a long-term deal earlier this season after making a breakthrough and forcing Lewis Stevenson out of the team.

He's enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough campaign with the club and was named in the Scottish Premiership team of the season earlier today.

He was one of just two Hibs players in the XI with Martin Boyle also listed.
