Josh Doig transfer latest as Hibs boss Jack Ross admits teen 'highly likely' to leave

Jack Ross has confirmed Josh Doig is ‘highly likely’ to leave Hibs in the coming days.

The Easter Road boss revealed the youngster was left out of the squad to face Motherwell as interest in him hots up.

It’s a major blow to Hibs ahead of the new Premiership campaign kicking off but Ross wasn’t able to let anyone know where he is going.

There is interest from England and in Scotland with he likes of Arsenal and Leeds interested, while Celtic have also been credited with an interest.

But Ross said: “Josh is highly likely to leave the club. He has been the subject of a lot of attention and much more concrete interest over the last few days.

“For us and Josh as a young man it needs to reach a head one way or another. Ideally I’d like to keep him but as the situation moves forward it looks more likely he will leave the club fairly soon.”

“There’s still a number of suitors. It’s not definitive but at this moment it looks more likely he will leave.”

Watford previously had a £2.5m bid rejected for him earlier in the summer while Arsenal and West Ham reportedly urged Hibs to drop their asking price from £5m.
