Josh Bellamy glad to reunite with Adam Gase: ‘He has a dog mentality’

With less than a week to go before the NFL draft, optimism is high around the New York Jets.

Le’Veon Bell and C.J. Mosley are on board. Sam Darnold is up and coming and Adam Gase is getting more and more comfortable in New York. It’s Gase, of course, who will be running the show.

That won’t be anything new for special teams addition Josh Bellamy, who was with Gase in Chicago. Together again, Bellamy is high on what the Jets are getting.

“He has a dog mentality,” Bellamy told reporters Friday. He’s always attacking. He’s a winner.”

Quotes like that have to make Jets fans feel good about what they have in their head coach. One of the biggest criticisms of former coach Todd Bowles was that he was not outspoken and kept his emotions to himself. Gase is the complete opposite. With Gase and Gregg Williams on staff, the Jets training camp practices will be anything but calm and relaxing.

“Attacking” is one thing the Jets will look to do under their new leader. Safety Jamal Adams has been asking for “gogs,” and with guys like Bell, Mosley and new left guard Keleche Osemele on the team, it looks like Adams finally got his wish.

Bellamy was not shy in saying that Gase is a winner. Jets fans are hoping to see some of that right away in 2019.
