Josh Adams' stunning wedding sees Wales rugby team turn out in style

Wales rugby international Josh Adams has married his fiancée Georgia Davies at a stunning wedding in the company of members of the Welsh team.

The couple's wedding reception was held at Llanerch Vineyard in Hensol, just around the corner from the Wales team's training base. Guests included Wales team-mates Leigh Halfpenny, Liam Williams, Gareth Anscombe, Gareth Davies, Wyn Jones and their wives and partners. A live band performed at the reception, with the couple's first dance an acoustic version of Bryan Adams' Heaven.

It was the latest in a long line of Welsh rugby weddings this summer that have seen full-back Williams, Josh Navidi, Adam Beard, Will Rowlands and Kieran Hardy also get married.

Adams and Georgia's one-year-old daughter Lottie was, of course, present, just over a year after being born while her dad was away touring with the Lions.

Adams sacrificed missing the birth for the chance to achieve arguably a rugby player's greatest honour. Georgia went into labour hours before the winger was due to play a match in South Africa.

In the Lions documentary that followed, he revealed how close he came to turning down a place on the plane.

“There were many a conversation had, a lot of tears, I can tell you that. I was so close to saying: ‘Look, I’m very grateful for being selected but I can’t go’," he said.

“My fiancée and my family were so supportive, they were saying it was once in a lifetime and you might never get to represent the Lions again.”

Unsure of what to do and worried about how it may look, Adams consulted with Georgia’s family before heading off.

Georgia said: “My instant reaction was that we’re not even talking about it, we’re not thinking twice, he’s got to go but it was difficult for Josh.

“He spoke to my family because he was really worried that they would think that he’s leaving me for the birth but their reaction was the same as mine. They were really on board with him going.”

Adams has already returned to pre-season training at Cardiff, with the new season due to kick-off on September 16.
