Italian DJ and producer Joseph Capriati has been admitted to hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed by his father.

As reported by La Repubblica, the 33-year-old is being treated for his injuries, which are reportedly “life-threatening”, at Sant’Anna e San Sebastiano hospital in Caserta, Italy.

Capriati’s 61-year-old father, who has no previous criminal convictions, has reportedly been arrested for attempted murder.

According to a preliminary investigation, Capriati was stabbed by his father with a kitchen knife after a fight between the two family members broke out on Friday (8 January).

Capriati – who usually resides and works in Spain – had been living at his parent’s home in Caserta amid the pandemic.

Fellow musicians have taken to Twitter to share their well-wishes for Capriati’s health.

Welsh DJ Jamie Jones shared a post, reading: “Sending love out there and praying for the health of my dear brother @josephcapriati.”

He added: “Keep fighting J!! In utter shock this morning.”

Similarly, DJ Yousef Circus wrote: “Sending love and support to @josephcapriati Unbelievable news.”

“Sending our prayers & best wishes @josephcapriati We hope you make a full recovery,” added British DJ duo and Grammy nominees CamelPhat.

German DJ and producer Chris Lieblig added his well wishes for Capriati, stating: “Joseph, we are all with you!”
