May 26--The White Sox's comeback came up short against the Indians in a 4-3 loss Wednesday at U.S. Cellular Field. The Sox scored two runs in the eighth when Melky Cabrera hit a two-run home run, which cut the Indians' lead to 4-3.
The Sox have now lost five straight series.
Sox starter Jose Quintana allowed a two-run triple to Lonnie Chisenhall in the second inning and another run in the third.
Sox third baseman Todd Frazier scored from first in the sixth inning after an errant throw went into center field on a stolen base attempt.
At the plate
Jose Abreu had three of the Sox's nine hits. The Sox struck out eight times against Indians starter Corey Kluber.
On the mound
Quintana gave up three runs on five hits with one walk and eight strikeouts in six innings for the Sox.
Key number
The Sox were 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position and left seven runners on base.
