Jose Mourinho will bounce back after Man Utd! Gianfranco Zola backs sacked manager to make instant return

Gianfranco Zola believes Jose Mourinho will make a swift return to management following his sacking from Manchester United.

Mourinho was fired this morning, almost three years to the day since he was dismissed by Chelsea for a second time.

The 55-year-old leaves Manchester United 19 points behind leaders Liverpool while they trail Chelsea, who are in fourth, by 11.

Mourinho's last title win was with Chelsea in 2015 and he hasn't won a Champions League since 2010.

His man-management style and constant negative headlines have caused a lot of negative scrutiny and led some to question whether top clubs will still want to hire him.

But Chelsea's assistant boss Zola said: "It's never pleasant to see a coach being dismissed from a job. It's not pleasant for anyone, especially not pleasant for somebody like Jose who has won so much in the game and done so much for this club.

"(I am feeling) Sad, like many others. But I want to wish him all the best in the new adventure I'm sure he'll have somewhere else.

“Nowadays, getting the sack is part of our job. It belongs to everyone: from the small coaches to the big ones. Knowing the character and personality of Jose, he'll want to bounce back immediately, so I don't know about that.”
