Jose Mourinho wants Diego Costa reunion as Tottenham fans offer Sergio Ramos transfer verdicts

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Wednesday, December 30.

Mourinho wants Costa reunion

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has made Diego Costa his January transfer window priority after his release from Atletico Madrid.

The La Liga leaders confirmed on Tuesday that Costa's contract has been terminated at the Wanda Metropolitano. Now, according to Spanish outlet La Razon, Mourinho is looking to sign the former Chelsea striker next month.

The Spurs boss brought the Spain striker to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2014 after his impressive season at Atletico, where he eventually returned.

As it stands, Spurs have Harry Kane and Carlos Vinicius as their out-and-out centre-forward options, with Lucas Moura and Gareth Bale also being able to play there.

Pochettino close to football return

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is on the verge of being appointed as Paris Saint-Germain's new manager, according to reports.

It's been 13 months since Spurs sacked Pochettino and the head coach has been out of work since his departure.

Now it's time for the Argentine coach to prove he is a world-class manager, something he could never quite do in north London due to the lack of major honours.

With a European giant like PSG, who have tremendous financial backing, Pochettino will now have the chance to do just that, if he does move.

Despite coming in for plenty of praise during his time at Spurs, the 48-year-old never won a trophy in N17.

Spurs fans react to Ramos links

Sergio Ramos' contract at Real Madrid is due to expire at the end of the season and Tottenham are the latest club to be linked with the experienced central defender.

According to the Evening Standard, the possibility of Ramos joining Spurs in the summer is now a real possibility. The report claims that Mourinho is keen to bolster his defensive options and the 34-year-old has been identified as someone who can do just that.

Spurs supporters have taken to Twitter to react to the links, with @columnzhang saying: "Levy Magic incoming."

@ToucheAdrian: "that would be brilliant, we need a decent centre half to partner with Dier & Alderweireld."
