Jose Mourinho unhappy with Harry Winks following Tottenham star's admission

Jose Mourinho said he was 'not happy' with Harry Winks after the Tottenham midfielder admitted he didn't intend his 53-yard screamer against Ludogorets.

Winks scored his first Spurs goal in more than two years as lobbed Ludogorets keeper Plamen Iliev from long range with a stunning diagonal strike.

It was Tottenham's third of the night as they beat their Bulgarian visitors 4-0 in the Europa League to remain level on points with group leaders Rapid Vienna.

Winks laughed as he was congratulated by team-mates on the touchline where he had launched his rocket following a throw-in.

Afterwards he admitted he had intended to cross the ball in for team-mate Gareth Bale - but Mourinho said he should have claimed it as an outrageous bit of skill.

"He is too honest!" the Spurs boss joked, speaking to BT Sport .

"I am not happy with him! With a goal like that you have to say you meant it, but a good kid. He is honest."

Earlier, Winks had been asked by BT Sport whether he meant to score, and replied: "I'd love to sit here and say that I did, but I've got to be honest and say no.

"I saw Gaz run in. I'll take it at the end of the day.

"It has been a while [since he last scored] but I am happy with the way the team played."

Tottenham's win was their fifth in a row in all competitions, after they beat Manchester City at the weekend to stay top of the Premier League.

Carlos Vinicius scored a brace against Ludogorets, while his fellow Brazilian Lucas Moura rounded off the scoring in the 73rd minute to keep Spurs on track for the knockout stages.

Tanguy Ndombele was the only man to keep his place in the starting line-up from Saturday's win over City, as Mourinho eyes Sunday's visit to third-placed Chelsea.

Frank Lampard's side are two points behind both Spurs and second-placed Liverpool.
