Jose Mourinho told how to resolve Dele Alli problem amid PSG transfer links

Former Tottenham star Dimitar Berbatov has given his verdict on the Dele Alli situation.

Alli was left out of the Spurs squad for the second successive Premier League game for their draw with Newcastle United on the weekend.

Jose Mourinho's latest Alli decision comes amid transfer links with PSG, Monaco and others.

But Spurs shouldn't be considering selling Alli, according to former striker Berbatov, who believes both the midfielder and Mourinho should compromise to find a solution.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho post-match after Newcastle

"I've been there. A couple of times and especially if you are a striker and a creative player, your confidence is going to suffer," he told TalkSPORT.

"Nothing is going to change because you are still good but your confidence is low.

"I mentioned the All or Nothing documentary and in that Mourinho called him a lazy trainer. This is something when you think about it because it leads to a problem down the line.

"If your coach is straight with you and you don't take it well, it can lead to a confrontation.

"Something is not sitting right with Mourinho. There needs to be a compromise from both sides.

"He is so talented. As soon as possible they need to resolve it."

Alli has played just 45 minutes of league football from Spurs' first three Premier League games, also turning out in the Europa League qualifiers.
