Rio Ferdinand has compared Tottenham striker Harry Kane to two Premier League legends.
Kane scored his latest goal in Spurs' 3-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday, notching from the spot to help his side on their way to their first win of the new year.
The goal was Kane's 10th of the season in the Premier League and he also got his 11th assist in another impressive display, setting up Son Heung-min for his 100th goal in Spurs colours.
And after the game, former Manchester United defender turned BT Sport pundit Ferdinand likened Kane to former frontmen Wayne Rooney and Thierry Henry.
“We spoke about it off-air, he reminds me, seeing him live like this, of Wayne Rooney. Rooney used to love dropping into pockets, into the number 10 role, he could play high up, he could do everything," Ferdinand said.
"He’s all about creating opportunities, to either shoot, or create something for someone else. Here, coming from deep, awareness of other players.
"He creates havoc, and when you get players like this on the ball, things will some point happen in those 90 minutes. The last striker who was getting goals and assists at that rate was Thierry Henry - and he needs to be spoken about in that sort of company.”
Kane and Son once again stole the show against Leeds and between them they have now got 22 goals scored and 16 assisted in the Premier League alone.
The win saw Tottenham - who were without a win in four Premier League outings heading into this one - move back to within four points of leaders Liverpool and second-placed Manchester United.
