Steve Clarke admits he smiled when he saw Jose Mourinho linked with Celtic.
The Kilmarnock manager was assistant to the Portuguese boss at Chelsea between 2004 and 2007.
But Clarke knows the Scottish league is not the place Mourinho will be resurfacing after his sacking from Manchester United. Celtic also shut the link down immediately after it came to light in Italian media.
Clarke said: “I did have a little grin.
"I’m not sure Jose would come to Scotland. He’d probably be looking to go to a more high-profile European league.
“And to somebody who is going to pay him a little bit closer to £12million per year!”
