It's now a week since the news broke about Man City's ban from European competition for the next two seasons.
The reigning Premier League champions committed a serious breach of Financial Fair Play Regulations and were slapped with a €30million (£25m) fine on top of their ban.
While the ban is subject to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, it appears that whoever finishes in fifth will get the final Champions League place in City's absence.
It could potentially get even worse for the club as it has also been reported that they could also be stripped of two of their league titles.
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho was in charge of Manchester United during the 2017/18 season as they finished in second and a huge 19 points behind their rivals.
Joking that he could be given another league title after last Sunday's 3-2 win over Aston Villa, the Portuguese boss once again mentioned it during his press conference ahead of Saturday's game against Chelsea.
With one reporter mentioning that he previously said his biggest achievement was finishing in second behind City, he said: "Maybe I'll win that title?"
However, it seems that finishing in fourth with Spurs this season would top that given the club's current injury woes.
"In these circumstances, yes," he said on trying to guide the Lilywhites to another top-four finish.
"Stats are what they are and sometimes very silly, especially when people tries to identify what I called the quantitative stats and forget that football is more about qualitative stats," he added.
"Especially about players' performances. Sonny and Harry, they score the majority of goals that Tottenham score. This season was so negatively special that we'll be without them both at the same time for a lot of matches.
"So yes, not for me, my achievement, but collectively for this group of boys if we manage to finish fourth without Harry and Sonny it would be something incredible, incredible achievement for the boys. So we have to give everything we have."
