Jose Mourinho takes swipe at Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp and Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino

Jose Mourinho has taken a subtle swipe at Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino ahead of the Champions League final.

Both Klopp and Pochettino have failed to win a trophy since taking over at Liverpool and Tottenham respectively.

But one man's unwanted record will go as they battle it out to become champions of Europe in Madrid on June 1.

Mourinho, who has twice won the Champions League, admits that he is fond of the work that both Klopp and Pochettino have done at their clubs.

However, he warns that football is all about winning trophies - and neither man has done that yet.

When asked about Pochettino, Mourinho told L'Equipe : "He won what, what trophy?

"I admire the work of Mauricio and Jurgen, both deserve to achieve something big, and there is nothing greater than holding this Cup, but one of them will lose.

"Jurgen will play his third final, I can not imagine the feeling that it would be for him to play three finals and not win."

Klopp was unsuccessful in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich in 2013 during his time at Borussia Dortmund manager.

It continued a miserable run in finals for Klopp, who has also lost the Europa League and League Cup finals during his time at Anfield.

Pochettino, meanwhile, manages his second cup final for Spurs, having overseen the 2015 League Cup loss to Chelsea .
