Jose Mourinho has claimed Tottenham do not command the same "respect" as other Premier League clubs with a "big history" after facing a daunting fixture schedule.
Spurs have been handed an unprecedented run of nine games in 24 days due to the congested nature of this season.
It meant that less than 72 hours after playing in North Macedonia for the Europa League against FK Shkendija, Mourinho's side were back in action at home to Newcastle.
The Portuguese tactician was left to rue a hamstring injury to Heung-min Son, who was replaced at half-time by Steven Bergwijn with Spurs leading Newcastle 1-0.
To make matters worse, the north London outfit were denied victory after Newcastle were awarded a controversial penalty via VAR deep into stoppage-time, which was dispatched by Callum Wilson to secure a 1-1 draw.
Spurs now just have two days before they face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and Mourinho took aim at the senior figures, accusing them of lacking respect for Tottenham by handing them such a packed fixture list.
When asked about Son's injury, Mourinho told Sky Sports: "It's just the first one [injury]. Tuesday [there could be] another one, Thursday another one and maybe Sunday a couple of more.
"But this is the respect that Tottenham get. Tottenham is a big club but our history in terms of trophies is not as big as other clubs.
"I realise that I'm coaching with a lot of affection, a lot of love and I love the club. I love to be here.
"I don't see myself leaving and going to another club because I love it so much.
"But I realise now the difference between clubs with a big history and the others."
