February is almost at an end and Tanguy Ndombele's fitness continues to be a problem for Jose Mourinho.
Signed in the summer from Lyon for a club-record fee, the Frenchman's time in N17 has been incredibly mixed to say the least with injury and fitness issues limiting his time on the pitch.
Looking very good in glimpses, as was the case on Wednesday night against RB Leipzig, Ndombele has struggled with the speed of the Premier League and has only completed three of his 16 league games so far.
The Frenchman has had to make do with a place on the bench recently and all will be hoping that he can step it up over the coming months with the team missing a number of key players.
Ndombele clearly has what it takes to be a huge player for Spurs and he will no doubt dominate the headlines once his fitness woes are behind him.
Asked by football.london at his pre-match press conference if it is a concern that the 23-year-old still cannot give him 90 minutes, Mourinho said: "I can only speak about three months and three months of small injuries, setbacks, difficult to reach a good physical level.
"Playing one match and then getting injured again. So difficult, difficult time."
Ndombele is now doing plenty of work behind the scenes at Hotspur Way to improve on his fitness as he looks to get a sustained run in the team under Mourinho.
"At least he's not been injured in the last few weeks, he played a good 30 minutes in the last game and it was a game of high intensity. And hopefully he'll only improve," added the head coach when asked about the player's training programme.
"I hope that the first time he plays a match in the starting line-up, he can play and be on the pitch for 60-90 minutes and not have any setback."
