Jose Mourinho snubs Manchester United players in best XI he has coached

Jose Mourinho has named a best XI consisting of players he has coached during his illustrious managerial career.

The former Manchester United manager was asked by Marca to try and pick the ultimate dream team consisting of players he has managed. The Portuguese coach named a star-studded team which features no players from his time spent in charge at Old Trafford.

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo is the only player to have represented United in the line up having worked with Mourinho during his time at Real Madrid.

Mourinho won three trophies during his time in charge of United and worked with the likes of Paul Pogba, David de Gea and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, none of them did enough to make it into his best side.

The Portuguese's time at Chelsea is evident in the side with eight of the players selected from his two different spells in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Petr Cech is given the nod in goal, while John Terry, William Gallas and Ricardo Carvalho feature in his four man defence along with Inter Milan legend Javier Zanetti.

Claude Makelele sits at the base of midfield with Frank Lampard and Mesut Ozil playing either side, while Eden Hazard has been selected in an attacking role.

Up front Mourinho has selected Ronaldo and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.

Jose Mourinho's best XI

Cech; Zanetti, Terry, Carvalho, Gallas; Makelele, Lampard, Ozil, Hazard; Ronaldo, Drogba.
