Jose Mourinho slams Man City decision as Harry Kane transfer claim made

Here is your Tottenham morning digest for Wednesday, July 15.

Mourinho slams Man City decision

Jose Mourinho has slammed the overturning of Manchester City's two-year ban from UEFA competition as 'disgraceful' following Monday's Court of Arbitration for Sport verdict.

Back in February, it was announced that the Premier League club had received a two-year suspension from Europe and a €30million fine after breaking financial fair play rules.

It was therefore expected that fifth place in the Premier League would secure Champions League football next season but that is not the case, leaving Mourinho furious.

"In relation to the decision, in any case it’s a disgraceful decision. If Man City is not guilty of it, to be punished by some million is a disgrace."

Spurs' Willian chances assessed

The future of Chelsea winger Willian has attracted plenty of speculation as his deal with the club is due to expire at the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho has been attributed with an interest in signing the Brazilian and establishing a reunion in North London, although they may face a battle to secure his services.

Football.London's Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold issued an update on the links in his latest Q&A, where he addressed a wealth of topics.

"The only thing I would say is that when I asked Mourinho about bringing in experienced players last week he said he wasn't going to go in that direction."

Keane claims Kane will stay

Former Tottenham favourite Robbie Keane has declared that Harry Kane will remain at the club beyond the transfer window.

Kane's future has regularly attracted speculation and, with Spurs looking set to miss out on Champions League football, the rumours have been reignited - but Keane says there's no reason to be concerned.

“Knowing Daniel Levy, the way I do, he will do everything he can to keep him. He cannot go anywhere unless people come in and make massive, massive bids. So, you are going to be talking about £100 million-plus," he told Stadium Astro.

“Harry would have, I am sure, had a conversation with Daniel and Jose for next season. I think, from Spurs’ point of view, let’s get this season out of the way and start building for next season. And, of course, Harry Kane will be a part of that.”
