Coral have suspended betting on Jose Mourinho becoming the next AC Milan manager less than an hour after the club sacked Marco Giampaolo.
The former Manchester United boss was 1/4 favourite for the role with Giampaolo sacked four months after taking the job.
The ex-Sampdoria manager was in charge of just seven games and won three of them, losing four.
But the AC Milan hierarchy have decided a quick change was needed and it looks like Mourinho could return to the San Siro.
He had a spell in Italy with Inter Milan and won the Champions League with the club.
He left Inter in 2010 to take the Real Madrid job and has continually been linked with a return to Italy.
“Jose has been waiting patiently for his next managerial job but this gamble this afternoon suggests to us that may come in Milan again, this time with Inter’s rivals AC Milan,” said Coral’s John Hill.
Mourinho has been out of work since leaving Old Trafford last year. Mourinho was heavily criticised for his man management at Man Utd with regular bust-ups between the Portuguese and Paul Pogba.
