Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is not looking at other results as the top-four race heats up ahead of the Premier League run-in.
In a good position at the turn of the year to seal a place in next season's Champions League, Tottenham have tumbled down the table in recent months after some poor results.
With Chelsea and Liverpool victorious on Saturday, and West Ham beating Leicester City earlier on Sunday afternoon, Tottenham need to record a win over Manchester United if they are to keep in touch with their rivals.
While fans may be keeping a close eye on the table at present with a top-four finish a must for the club, Mourinho has confirmed that his side are fully focused on themselves as they look to qualify for Europe's premier competition.
"I don’t even look to other results because we cannot control them, so there is no point about being too worried about the matches we are not playing," he told Sky Sports ahead of the United game.
"It’s just about us and to be honest, I think that’s what we’ve been doing in the Premier League lately, we lost two points at Newcastle but the points that we lost were not at all down to a lack of attitude.
"So, for me, no problem - I know that the guys tonight are going to give everything they have."
Running riot in the reverse fixture earlier in the season as they won 6-1 at Old Trafford after a stunning first-half performance, the experienced head coach knows things are going to be very different this time around.
“I don’t know. When I lost badly, I never had that feeling of revenge, I always had the feeling of: it happened once, it’s not going to happen twice, but it’s up to them," he added when asked if United will be looking for revenge.
"For us, we know the reality of the two teams is not the difference of five goals. We know that the result happened once, it won’t happen more than that.
"We are going to fight for the points, but completely forgetting there is no point in looking back at that match.”
