Jose Mourinho sends message to Liverpool after Tottenham's win over Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that Liverpool will win the Premier League this season after his side beat Manchester City 2-0.

Spurs' victory scuppers any faint hopes City may have had of catching runaway league leaders Liverpool.

Second half goals from Steven Bergwijn and Heung-Min Son were enough for Spurs to secure their first Premier League victory over Pep Guardiola's team since October 2016.

Victory for Spurs means that Liverpool are now a whopping 22 points clear of City in second place with 13 games of the season remaining.

Though Mourinho's main focus was, of course, on his own team, who climbed back up to fifth with all three points, he did admit that City were going to lose the title this season to Jurgen Klopp's rampant Reds.

"It was a good weekend, we got two points to Arsenal, to Chelsea, to Leicester, to Wolves, we didn't lose points to Sheffield (United), it is good for us," Mourinho told Sky Sports after the match.

"Obviously, against the champions, still the champions. A fantastic team, even if they are going to lose the title."

Liverpool now need to win just six of their remaining 13 games to be crowned Premier League champions, regardless of what City achieve between now and May.
