Jose Mourinho says what Tottenham fans want to hear about summer transfer plans

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has hinted that he will look to make further additions to the team in the summer in order to help with the 'evolution' of Spurs during his time in charge of the club.

The former Manchester United manager took over from Mauricio Pochettino in November after a poor start to the season saw the Argentinian shown the door at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Under Mourinho Spurs are making a challenge for the top four places in the Premier League and sit just four points behind rivals Chelsea in the fourth Champions League place in the table.

Jose Mourinho on Spurs' progress under him

Tottenham added two new players during the January transfer window, with Gedson Fernandes signing on an 18-month loan deal from Benfica while Steven Bergwijn signing from PSV Eindhoven.

Bergwijn made an instant impact on his debut for Tottenham, scoring the opening goal in the 2-0 Premier League win over Manchester City in Spurs' last league game before the winter break.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Mourinho has hinted that he could look to make more additions during the close season.

"I want to try to have an evolution of the team in areas where we cannot do it now," he said.

Tottenham have already been linked to players ahead of the summer window, with Adam Lallana, Jack Grealish and Nathan Ake all having been rumoured to be interesting Spurs.
