Tottenham have been handed a considerable injury boost with Harry Kane's problem sustained against Liverpool not as bad as first feared.
The striker was forced off from the midweek defeat against the defending Premier League champions, which raised concerns regarding a potential long-term absence.
However, according to the Telegraph, those worries could be set to be wiped away as the best-case scenario is that Kane will be sidelined for two weeks.
That would still see the forward miss the Premier League clashes against Brighton, Tottenham and West Brom, as well as the FA Cup tie against Everton, but he would potentially return for the tie against Manchester City on February 13th.
The positive update is down to the fact that Kane, who has suffered numerous ankle injuries in the past, is not experiencing as much pain as he previously did.
However, full details are not set to be discovered until after Kane undergoes a scan - with Spurs waiting until swelling subsides for that to take place.
The fact that Kane has suffered five previous ankle injuries, which included a six-week absence between January and February last year as well as missing 10 matches in 2016. He also missed nine games in 2019, which threatened his chances of being able to play in the Champions League final.
Kane's injury issues with his ankle have regularly occurred post-Christmas in previous years and it has once again fallen during a crucial period for Spurs.
Defeat to Liverpool left Mourinho's side four-points adrift of the Champions League spots and sixth in the standings, just three points ahead of London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.
