Jose Mourinho sacked by Tottenham just six days before Manchester City cup final

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Jose Mourinho just six days before the Carabao Cup Final.

Spurs are set to take on Manchester City at Wembley this coming Sunday for the first major silverware of the season in England.

But it's been revealed the club have pulled the trigger on the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United manager's reign after 17 months in charge.

Spurs sit 7th in the Premier League, five points adrift of the Champions League places.

The stunning development comes against the backdrop of Tottenham 's involvement in the proposed European Super League.

The London club have joined the rest of the English top flight's 'Big Six' in the controversial breakaway tournament which has shaken European football to its core.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal stand alongside Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus in signing up to the exclusive setup which would separate itself from the Champions League.
