Jose Mourinho's decision to leave Daniel Levy worried as Tottenham make transfer decision

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Friday, January 15.

Mourinho decision to worry Levy

Since Gareth Bale re-signed for Tottenham in the summer, the Welshman has featured in just four Premier League games - making one start.

There was mass excitement when Spurs completed the deal to sign Bale on a season-long loan from Real Madrid after seven years away from the club.

However, Jose Mourinho has barely played the Wales forward, and it looks as if Daniel Levy 's gamble to bring him back to north London might not pay off, as things stand.

Even when Spurs were held at home to Fulham on Wednesday evening, Mourinho had the 31-year-old to turn to on the bench if he needed him, but the manager chose to use only two of his substitutions - with Bale remaining sat down.

The Spurs loanee was never going to be the same player as Tottenham supporters saw seven years ago - due to a number of factors, with age and injury problems being the biggest ones - but fans would've definitely expected to see him more than this.

Spurs to make Kim-Min jae move

Tottenham are preparing another offer for South Korean defender Kim Min-jae, according to a report from the Mirror.

It was no secret that Spurs were interested in signing a central defender over the summer, and eventually got Joe Rodon in the latter stages of the window.

However, it appears that Mourinho is still on the hunt for another centre-back and Kim appears to be a preferred choice for the boss.

The report claims that Spurs are 'weighing up a bid' this month, stepping up their interest to try and fend off competition from London rivals Chelsea.

The north London-based side may be looking for another defender because Davinson Sanchez continuously being linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Aurier 'hungry' in Doherty competition

Tottenham defender Serge Aurier has described himself as 'hungry' in the race to be Mourinho's first-choice right-back.

Spurs signed Matt Doherty last summer and it looked as if Aurier 's time in north London was effectively over.

However, the Ivory Coast defender is continuing to be utilised by Mourinho this season, with his performances seemingly improving.

Aurier has opened up on his battle with Doherty and has pinpointed his determination for his mini revival in the Spurs team.

The Tottenham full-back said: "I didn’t start the first few games of the season – now I have played a few games in the last few months. So, I didn’t start the season in the team, but that is what I like. I never give up.

"When I don’t play, I stay calm. Of course, I am hungry because I want to play, and I know my opportunity is coming. I have to be ready for that – that is always the situation.

"I don’t begin a season believing that I am first choice – that might be the case, it might not be. But I always give my best and try to change the manager’s mind. I like that challenge. It is always a big challenge for me."
