Jose Mourinho reveals why he thinks Spurs will progress against Ajax in the Champions League

Jose Mourinho believes Tottenham's Champions League semi-final second-leg against Ajax is a tough game to call.

Spurs head to the Johan Cruijff ArenA trailing from the first-leg after Donny van de Beek's 15th-minute strike was enough to hand Dutch giants a 1-0 win in London.

But Mourinho, who has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester United in December, believes that Spurs know they can progress from the tie and will be boosted by the return of Son Heung-Min, who missed the first-leg through suspension.

"It's really, really hard (to call)," Mourinho said.

"Looking to the history of the Champions League, Ajax are better away than at home.

Dimitar Berbatov outlines what Spurs must do against Ajax to seal Champions League final place

"They've had three victories in England, Spain and Italy, they played against the top countries, even against Benfica, nothing was easy for them and they were magnificent.

"At home, as I was saying, they have their style of play but so do Tottenham and I think Tottenham knows that they also can [progress].

"To play without [Harry] Kane is difficult, to play without Kane and Son [Heung-min] at the same time is even more difficult and next time at least Son is there.

"He is an aggressive player, he's fast, he has transitions and he can hurt people so the game is open."

The nightmare scenario Barcelona, Arsenal and Benfica can hand Tottenham in the Champions League
