Jose Mourinho reveals he did not watch Hugo Lloris interview; Tottenham boss ‘closed myself in my shell’

Jose Mourinho revealed that he did not watch Hugo Lloris' dramatic interview following Tottenham's Europa League exit, and was more interested in plotting Spurs' 2-0 win at Aston Villa.

Spurs embarrassingly threw away a 2-0 first-leg lead to lose 3-2 to Dinamo Zagreb in the last 16, which saw under-fire Mourinho question his side's attitude and professionalism.

Spurs captain Lloris delivered a stinging review of the club following the result, branding the defeat a "disgrace" before alluding to problems in the dressing room.

Tottenham's European exit means that they can only qualify for next season's Champions League through their league finish, and goals from Carlos Vinicius and Harry Kane at Villa Park on Sunday night moved them to within three points of fourth-placed Chelsea.

Asked if he had seen Lloris' interview, Mourinho told reporters: "I didn't watch it. I didn't listen to it.

"I closed myself in my shell as I was saying before, I don't need to read or listen or to watch to have a personal reaction.

“I am a very mature guy and I have emotional stability.

"I don't need to read or to listen. I was not interested, I was interested in analysing and thinking about the best approach I could have with my players.

“And to focus on my job rather than reactions after the game."
