Jose Mourinho reveals disappointment in Tottenham trio as pundit takes aim over Dele Alli

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Sunday, January 3.

Campbell makes Mourinho claim

According to former Arsenal forward Kevin Campbell, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has "squeezed the life" out of Dele Alli this season.

Alli has made just four appearances in the Premier League for Spurs this season and has been linked with a January move to Paris Saint-Germain.

With Mauricio Pochettino being appointed as PSG's new boss, Campbell has backed the England midfielder to reunite with his former manager.

Speaking to Football Insider, the ex-Gunners man said: "He can go there and get a new lease of life because the life has been squeezed out of him at Spurs by Mourinho.

"It’s not nice to see. Dele Alli knows exactly how Poch plays, his training methods etc. He’s an England international and he’s someone Pochettino knows he can rely on."

Spurs trio condemned by club for breaking Covid rules

Mourinho disappointed with Covid breach

Tottenham manager Mourinho feels more disappointed than he does angry after three Spurs players broke coronavirus guidelines for a Christmas party recently.

Giovani Lo Celso, Erik Lamela and Sergio Reguilon were pictured alongside West Ham United star Manuel Lanzini in the former's home.

Spurs strongly condemned their players' behaviour and breach of the guidelines, and now Mourinho has had his say.

Asked if he was angry with his players, the Spurs boss said: "I prefer to say disappointed. We know what we are internally.

"We don't need to open the door to you and let you know what is going on internally, what are going to be the consequences, how did we approach that negative surprise. I feel disappointed, just disappointed."

Son a 'bit sad' despite win

Son Heung-min has admitted he was a 'bit sad' despite his starring role in Tottenham's comfortable 3-0 victory over Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

Son scored and assisted for Spurs as they returned to winning ways with a relatively straightforward win in north London.

Harry Kane and the South Korea international continued their sublime link-up play, with the former assisting the latter for Spurs' second goal of the game.

Speaking to the Sky Sports cameras after the game, Son admitted he was a bit upset that he wasn't able to return the favour to Kane.

The Tottenham forward said: “We’re working hard and working through a long time, six years together, and we know each other really well.

"I’m a bit sad that I couldn't give an assist today to H. Harry always finds me so for my goal, he knew I was there. Obviously, the ball was perfect to me. Sometimes it’s telepathic, sometimes we’re talking about it."
