Jose Mourinho has moved to deny reports that he had a training ground bust-up with defender Danny Rose.
Reports surfaced on Monday night that the Spurs head coach had a training ground altercation with Rose after the left-back was left out of the squad for Saturday's 0-0 draw with Watford.
According to the Daily Mail, the pair clashed before the match over Rose's omission and again during Sunday's warm-down session at Hotspur Way.
The Mail report stated "The two clashed with voices becoming raised and onlookers describing ‘a big tension in the air’."
Rose had been suffering with a back injury and it was for that reason that Mourinho said he had been left out of the squad to face the Hornets at Vicarage Road.
Tottenham take on Norwich City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night and MOurinho has been holding his pre-match press conference at Hotspur Way.
With the Rose 'rift' on people's minds, Mourinho was asked about the situation with the left-back.
He denied the altercation taking place and said: "It was a bit of surprise that he was ready to train [on Friday]. It was not a big problem but even so I decided then to play with [Japhet] Tanganga. That’s the situation."
