Jose Mourinho provides Tottenham injury update as Jack Clarke dazzles on full Stoke City debut

Here is your Tottenham morning digest for Saturday, January 23.

Mourinho's injury update

Jose Mourinho has proved an injury update ahead of Tottenham's FA Cup clash with Wycombe Wanderers.

He said in his pre-match press conference: "The injured players that are not doubts about playing or not playing is Lo Celso, who still has a few more weeks.

"Apart from that we are talking about small injuries, question marks and doubts in that little group we have two or three players with small problems that I am not sure they can play the match on Monday.

Asked who those players are, he replied: "Matt Doherty, he was not involved at Sheffield United, I'm not sure he will recover, Dele All is not training in the last couple of days, a small problem in the tendon and Serge Aurier also is not really well.

"We have a few but out at this stage, still three days before the match, the only one I can say completely out is Gio."

Jack Clarke impresses on debut

Tottenham fans are hoping they may have another exciting prospect for the future after seeing Jack Clarke in action for Stoke City.

Clarke was making his third appearance for the Potters since joining on loan from Spurs, with the 20-year-old starting the game against Watford at the Bet365 Stadium.

His previous two appearances had been from the bench, with Clarke introduced as a substitute in games against Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.

But while it was not the result Clarke would have wanted on his first Stoke City start as the Potters lost out 2-1 against Watford, the former Leeds United midfielder made quite the impression.

Particularly so when he controlled the ball from a throw-in early in the second half, before juggling the ball as he looked to try and get Stoke on the front foot.

Clarke was substituted with eight minutes to go in the game, just before Steven Fletcher pulled a goal back for the hosts.

It was not enough to earn Michael O'Neill's side a point, but the performance of Clarke did not go unnoticed by Spurs and Stoke City fans.

Another exit confirmed

Tottenham goalkeeper Brandon Austin has joined Orlando City on loan for the duration of the MLS season, subject to international clearance.

Down the pecking order in the goalkeeping department at the club, Spurs have elected to let the 22-year-old depart on loan for the second season on the trot to help the player's development.

Last January the academy ace headed to Denmark on loan to join Viborg FF with game time limited in N17, with Austin going on to make 14 appearances for the Danish club.

Now behind Hugo Lloris, Joe Hart, Paulo Gazzaniga and Alfie Whiteman at Spurs, the shot-stopper will pick up valuable first-team experience playing in the United States with Orlando City.
