Jose Mourinho predicts Tottenham to finish above Arsenal this season

Jose Mourinho still expects Tottenham to finish above Arsenal this season despite an unconvincing start to the season.

Points earned away at Manchester City and, on Sunday, at the Gunners, have been undercut by less-than-impressive performances.

A 1-0 home loss to Newcastle, despite boasting over 80 per cent possession, followed a come-from-behind win over Aston Villa on the opening weekend.

Mourinho, acting as a pundit on Sky Sports, predicted Spurs would finish third earlier this season, behind City and Liverpool.

The Portuguese added that he believes City, Liverpool and City's reserve team all have a better chance of winning the title than Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea and stood by his opinion on Sunday.

When asked which north London team would finish higher, Mourinho said: "I still think Tottenham.

"What we laughed about [earlier in the season], I still think the same candidates for the title. Definitely City and Liverpool [in the top two] and then Tottenham, for me, still there."

He added: "I like many thing in the Arsenal squad."
