Jose Mourinho posts Instagram picture Tottenham fans won't like as Harry Kane told to leave club

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Friday, April 30.

Next Spurs manager: options assessed

Tottenham are looking to appoint a new manager by the time the season concludes, football.london understands.

Ryan Mason is the current interim boss at Spurs, with his deal running until the end of the season, which allows the club more time to make their decision.

Julian Nagelsmann has been linked, but he has now been announced as the new Bayern Munich manager starting from the next campaign.

Brendan Rodgers has admirers within the club, but with Leicester City set for Champions League football, prizing him away from the King Power Stadium is a very difficult task.

Alasdair Gold on Spurs' next manager, Erik Ten Hag, Harry Kane quotes and fan manifesto

Mourinho posts photo Spurs fans won't like

Jose Mourinho has posted a throwback photo from his Chelsea days on his Instagram page.

The former Tottenham boss, who was sacked just last week, has been very active on the social media website since his departure.

This time, though, it might not please Spurs fans, with Mourinho reminiscing on when he won the 2005/06 Premier League title with arch rivals Chelsea.

The photo is one of the Portuguese coach drinking champagne next to Damien Duff, Arjen Robben and John Terry, with the caption: "April 29th 2006. Hanging out with some friends on a special day (with champagne and trophy emojis)."

Ginola offers advice to Kane

David Ginola has told Harry Kane he needs to leave Tottenham this summer because the north London club are not strong enough to fill his ambitions.

Kane has been linked with a move away from Spurs this summer following another typically brilliant season for the club.

He currently leads the Premier League's goal scoring charts with 21 goals, as well as registering 13 assists in the top-flight.

But it's another trophy-less campaign for Spurs after they lost to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final last weekend, and Kane has hinted at moving away to win the major honours in the past.

Now, Ginola - formerly of Tottenham - has told the England captain that he needs to leave the club for the benefit of his own career.

“I think unfortunately he has to (leave Spurs),” he told talkSPORT.

“Because his club haven’t provided for a player like him the sort of things he was expecting, like potentially winning trophies.

“I think he’s looking at his career now and over the last few years it has been good for him, but not really for the club.

“Even though they’ve competed in the Champions League final, I’m pretty sure he wants to play for a team that will challenge for any title in any country.”
