Jose Mourinho has had his say on Bruno Fernandes as his future at Sporting looks uncertain.
Fernandes took his game to another level during the 2018/19 campaign by bagging 20 goals in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, something which has led to intense speculation about him potentially leaving the club.
The 24-year-old has since been linked with moves to Manchester United and Manchester City, before the latter side ruled themselves out of the running.
A move to the Premier League could happen and it's promising that a man with Mourinho's know-how has such warm words on hand when describing his compatriot.
Mourinho even admits that he was somewhat surprised by how impressive the midfielder has been this season in terms of his goals return.
"I was surprised by the season of Bruno Fernandes. It was easy to predict quality, he is a very good player, but scored a very high number of goals for a midfield player," Mourinho told Eleven Sports.
"It shows that you need to have instinct and qualities to score and he has it all. He strikes the ball well, heads well, cool when he is one-on-one with the goalkeeper. He finds space in the penalty area. It’s all there."
