"I fell asleep [in the barber's chair] and when I woke up it was so bad that I said to him 'bring the [number] one'. Hopefully, it will grow back again."

Some of his more experienced Tottenham players appear to have followed suit during the lockdown with no-fuss DIY shaved heads and Mourinho could not help but poke fun at his captain.

Jan Vertonghen had been the first to take the chop and the Spurs boss noticed how much his has already grown back in a couple of weeks when he saw him on the squad's virtual training session.

"Jan, your hair is growing back a lot. Have you got a barber?" said Mourinho.

The Portuguese then turned his attention to Lloris who has just taken the chop.

"Hugo, two weeks and you will be fine," he said, prompting plenty of laughter from the Frenchman.

Lloris' hair will definitely have grown back by the time football returns with the Premier League not expected to be back in our lives until June at the earliest.
