Jose Mourinho makes Raul Jimenez transfer promise as Alan Shearer sends Harry Kane advice

Mourinho makes Jimenez transfer promise

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho will promise Wolves striker Raul Jimenez that he will be the 'attacking priority' if he joins Spurs in the summer.

Jimenez is one of the Premier League’s most lethal strikers, scoring 22 goals in all competitions this season.

The Mexican striker has been linked with Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs as a result.

According to Footmercato, Mourinho has contacted Jimenez’s representatives about potentially bringing the forward to Spurs in the summer.

Alasdair Gold on who Spurs could sell

The report suggests that Jimenez would be given 'priority in attack' if he leaves Molineux to join Spurs.

Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, and even if the Spurs' striker stayed put, Mourinho is still keen to add options in an attacking area.

Strange thing about Son

According to football.london’s Alasdair Gold, it is strange that Son Heung-min is seemingly never linked with a move away from Tottenham.

Top players across the Premier League, including Virgil van Dijk, believe that the South Korean is one of the trickiest customers to face in the top-flight.

However, despite being linked with Italian side Napoli ever so briefly, Son is rarely linked with a move away from north London, as Gold writes: “Son was briefly linked with Napoli last season but when it comes to Europe’s elite sides, the attacker just does not seem to be a target.

“The 27-year-old’s stats show his impact in English football with 83 goals in 220 matches plus another 44 assists, meaning Son contributes to a goal more than every other game and he’s not a striker, as Jose Mourinho declared this season.

“Despite his enormous popularity in Asia and his marketing appeal, Son is often underrated by many in the UK and Europe.

“It was similar to Mousa Dembele, rarely namechecked in Premier League fan polls but always flagged up by team-mates and opponents alike as one of the best they had played with or faced.”

United told to go in for Kane

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has told Manchester United that they should try to sign Harry Kane in the summer transfer window.

Kane has been linked with a move away from Spurs and refused to rule himself out of a potential departure recently, saying that the club needed to match his trophy ambition if he was to remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“I understand the talk of Jadon Sancho, I understand the talk of Harry Kane and I certainly understand the talk of Jack Grealish,” the former England striker said.

“Those three are exactly the types they need if they are to compete at the top again.”
