Jose Mourinho makes Manchester United Champions League team sheet confession

Jose Mourinho has admitted he would submit false tactics to UEFA ahead of Champions League games so he wouldn't give away his formation.

The former Manchester United manager, who left Old Trafford in December, was speaking on BeIN Sports ahead of the Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham.

Discussing the possible formation of the Tottenham side, Mourinho was referring to the UEFA team sheet, which shows the planned formation by each side.

But Mourinho suggested that Spurs would not necessarily play the formation on the team sheet and it could have been a trick by Mauricio Pochettino to confuse Liverpool.

Explaining himself, he said: "Are they coming with these scheme that the UEFA teamsheet presents?

"I have to confess, many times I did it wrong for the UEFA sheet. Sometimes you don't give exactly the real positions of your players!"

Mourinho has plenty of experience in the Champions League, winning the competition twice with Porto and Inter Milan.

He took United to the knock-out stages this season before being sacked, as well as winning the UEFA Europa League with the club in 2017.
