Dele Alli is back in the Tottenham squad once again for tonight's Europa League tie against Maccabi Haifa.
Starting on the opening day of the season against Everton, the attacking midfielder has only featured in one more game after losing his place in the squad.
Replaced after 60 minutes last Thursday in their European tie away at Shkendija, Alli subsequently wasn't included on Sunday for the draw against Newcastle United nor was he named on Tuesday night as the Lilywhites beat Chelsea on penalties in the Carabao Cup.
However, amid a lot of speculation about his future in recent weeks, Mourinho has brought him back in against Maccabi Haifa and there's a very good chance he'll get minutes on the pitch this evening.
Speaking to Premier Sports ahead of the match, the Portuguese boss was asked if he was tempted to start Alli and he admitted that his player would be the first substitute to come on as he didn't play against Chelsea.
"I am always tempted to play the players that work very hard and Dele is one of these guys," he said. "I only have respect towards him, he's working very well and very hard, he's ready.
"When we have on the bench the majority of players that player on Tuesday, he is the one who didn't, so my first change today will be Dele, because he's fresh and we're going to need him."
With Premier League clubs having until Monday to complete any remaining business, Alli's name will no doubt crop up a few times due to a lack of playing time in recent weeks.
A key player following Mourinho's appointment as boss back in November, the ex-MK Dons man will be hoping to regain his top form and ensure that he is once again one of the first name on the teamsheet at Spurs.
