Jose Mourinho makes big decision on Tottenham first team training after latest announcement

Tottenham Hotspur have suspended first team training until next month at the earliest, football.london understands.

Spurs had been the only London Premier League team still training, as recently as Thursday morning.

However, with the Premier League announcement that the football will not return until at least April 30, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage, Jose Mourinho and the club have adjusted their current plans.

With the players now having more than 40 days, at least before football fixtures, they have been told not to come in to Hotspur Way.

football.london understands that Mourinho has chosen to end first team training until next month at the earliest.

The Spurs players have all been asked to keep on top of fitness work at home with individual programmes drafted by the coaching staff as they would do during the summer.

When the players do return to Hotspur Way after the break, they will go through a pre-season of sorts before matches return.

Injured players Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn have been given permission to come to the training ground when required for help with their rehabilitation but there will be no training sessions taking place at the Enfield-based complex.

Football at Tottenham Hotspur has officially been paused until further notice.
