Jose Mourinho linked with bizarre Everton move as debate around next club rages on

Jose Mourinho has bizarrely been linked with a switch to Everton according to one bookmaker.

The Portuguese manager has been out of a job since leaving Manchester United earlier this season, having spent two-and-a-half seasons with the Old Trafford club.

The 56-year-old was sacked by the Red Devils in December 2018 having won just seven of his opening 17 Premier League matches of the campaign.

But, despite Everton not being on the hunt for a new manager, the boss has been linked with a switch to Goodison Park.

Bookmaker SkyBet have been debating who Mourinho's next club could be - and have placed the Blues as second-favourites to bring the boss in, just behind Inter Milan.

The Italians are rated at 4/1 to bring the Portuguese manager in with Everton following on 5/1 - ahead of Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain both at 8/1.

The Blues only brought Marco Silva to Goodison Park in the summer after the sacking of Sam Allardyce - with he and new director of football Marcel Brands embarking on a long-term project to bring the club back to the top.

Everton currently find themselves in 11th place in the Premier League table, four points behind seventh-placed Wolves - with the midlands club having a game in hand.
